The Global Energy Access panel aims to foster a meaningful discussion around energy access in developing countries and communities around the world. Experts in energy access infrastructure, off-grid energy projects, and policy will share their insights in how to affordable and reliable energy can be ensured for all.

Workshop 2 (Room B) - Pattern Energy: Case Study in Renewable Entrepreneurship
Join members of the Pattern Energy team for an interactive discussion about the founding and development of one California’s most successful renewable energy companies. This workshop will tackle challenges about entrepreneurship in the competitive US and global energy markets, as well as the decision making required to navigate the renewable energy industry of the future.

Panel 1 (Room A) - Greener, Newer Deals: Future of Energy Policy
This panel will examine the most aggressive national energy proposal in US history - the Green New Deal. Our panel of energy policy experts will discuss the role of public investment in catalyzing the energy transition, and the inherent challenges with implementing such policies.
Panel 2 (Room B) - The Shale Oil Paradox
Shale gas and tight oil production have disrupted energy markets. Production in the United States, largely stagnant one decade ago, is now at record levels. This turn of fortune in the US energy space has been related to a number of factors including petroleum geology, technological innovation, and oil prices. This panel, with guests coming from a variety of backgrounds, will dive deep into all of these factors. We expect a wide-ranging discussion of events leading up to the “shale boom”, as well as what we might expect going forward.
